This is a great Colorado state park near Loveland, Colorado for family vacations, that offers great fishing, watersports, swimming, hiking trails and more Rockies attractions. Boyd Lake boasts more than 1,700 acres of water, so you’ll find plenty of room to play, and there’s a nice, sandy beach to do some relaxing on.

Water skiing and jet skiing are allowed here, and there is a boat ramp, so getting going will be easy. Besides being popular for fishing in the summer, it’s also a great winter ice fishing spot. There are also areas for picnics here, as well as a concession stand and showers, so you should be plenty comfortable.
Boyd Lake State Park is also known as a great place to see wildlife, and to go bird watching. With all these amenities, everyone will find something to do here. Pets are allowed at this Colorado park, but must remain on-leash.
Directions to Boyd Lake: Exit I-15 west at US 34 near Loveland. Turn north on Madison Avenue, then follow the signs east and north to Boyd Lake State Park.

  • Cost of Admission: $6 per vehicle 10/1-4/30; $7 per vehicle 5/1-9/30
  • Hours: 5 am-10 pm unless (actively fishing or camping).
