Sun Peaks is a large resort located in the interior of British Columbia, Canada, a place famous for its 220 inches of annual dry, light, skier-friendly snow. It is actually the 3rd largest ski mountin in all of Canada!

Its place deep in the Canadian Rockies protects it from the mild, coastal weather patterns that would turn everything to slush and ice.
Storms rise and cool as they pass over the Coast Mountains, allowing the precipitation to fall in unique snowflakes by the billions.
The snow is fantastic and predictable- allowing Sun Peaks to run consistently, with reliable powder for more than 40 years!
The season runs from mid November to mid April, with visitors from around the world having fun on their 3,678 acres of terrain.
The skiable acres are spread across 881 meters of vertical rise, 122 trails, 12 glade areas, 2 alpine bowls and three terrain parks.
The runs at Sun Peaks are classifed as 10% novice (green circle), 58% intermediate (blue square), and 32% expert (black diamond).
Whether you like to cruise down long greens or blues or if you prefer catching some air on steep slopes, Sun Peaks has it all. And with multiple on-mountain rental companies offering ski, snowboard, cross-country, snow bike and outerwear rentals, your trip will be as seamless as possible.
The longest run at Sun Peaks is 5 miles (8 km) long. Green, blue and black runs can all be accessed from the top of every lift and most of them lead right back to the village- making meeting up with people of varying skill levels easy!
Another great feature at Sun Peaks is that their Rockstar Energy terrain park is divided into zones for every skill level. You don’t have to be a daring expert to try to catch your first air or ride a rail! They have novice, intermediate and expert zones in the 9-acre park.
The area doesn’t have night skiing, but you can get on the mountain outside of normal operation hours during their First Trax Breakfast on Wednesday mornings or for the Fondue Dinner and Evening Descent on Thursday nights. Contact their Adventure Centre in the Village Day Lodge
at (250) 578-5542 or 1-800-807-3257 for more information about their ongoing programming!
Most accommodations at Sun Peaks are ski-in ski-out, and if yours isn’t just hop on the resort shuttle that runs on weekends! Childcare and sports center is available at the village for the little ones or those tired of the cold. The village is also home to a few restaurants and cafes that serve food and drinks 24 hours a day!
Sun Peaks is the first resort east of Whistler via the Coquihalla or scenic Fraser Canyon. Its also just a 4-hour drive from Vancouver or 5.5 from Seattle.
The closest airport is Kamloops, about 45 minutes away. Daily flights land in Kamloops and Kelowna, both of which will get you there direct from many American, European, Australian and Asian cities. Airport shuttles are available from both airports, as well as from Vancouver’s international airport.
Shuttles also run between Sun Peaks and other big British Columbia resorts like Big White, Whistler and Silver Star Mountain.
