Shames Mountain, nestled in the Coast Mountain Range in northwest British Columbia’s Canadian Rockies, gets some of the most snow in North America!

Shames gets tons of snow! (Shames Mountain)

A crazy 472 inches (1,200 cm) of snow falls annually at Shames Mountain. With that kind of snow, even just the gorgeous views are worth a trip.
In the winter, Shames is a winter playground for skiers and snowboarders and in the summer they become informal hiking trails where you can find lots of wild blueberries and huckleberries.
Shames has 28 marked trails which are spread across 141 acres and range from easy greens to steep double black diamonds. The longest run is 2.5 miles (4 km).
The area is serviced by one double chairlift, a T-Bar and a handle tow.
The terrain is broken down as 21% novice (green), 60% intermediate (blue) and 19% advanced (black).
Shames is also home to 111 acres of natural glades, the perfect place to go searching for fresh powder stashes.
If you’re into doing tricks on the snow, head to Shames’terrain park, Rodeo.
The vertical rise is 1,600 feet (488 m) at Shames, which has a base elevation of 2,300 feet (700m) and a top elevation of 3,900 feet (1,189m).
