Spring time is slowly but surely coming to the Canadian Rockies and Alberta, but the weather is still unpredictable. If you want an example of how crazy the weather can be here this time of year, watch the Banff WebCam or the Jasper WebCam for a couple days. This time of year, you never know if you’ll see a blizzard, or a bright sunny day.
But if you still want to get an amazing Rocky Mountain outdoors high, you can grab a ride on the Banff Gondola or the Jasper Tramway. The Banff Gondola is open year round, and costs and costs $29 per adult, $15 for children up to 14, and is free for kids under 5. The Jasper Tramway opens on April 24, and costs $29 per adult, $15 for children up to 14, and is free for kids under 5.
It’s a great way to get way up high in the Rockies, see some of the great views around Banff National Park or Jasper National Park, get great photos, see some wildlife, and still do a little hiking in the high alpine, even if the weather isn’t so great.
This is a perfect thing to do with the whole family on your Rockies vacation, a great way to take a day off and relax after skiing or snowboarding at Marmot or Sunshine. Take a day to relax, enjoy the views, get some good photos and have some fun in Banff and Jasper!
