St. James’s is an Irish pub just about as authentic as you can get. The bar was actually built in Dublin and then reassembled in Banff. They have 24 beers on tap and over 30 single malt scotches and Irish whiskeys on the shelves. Menu items include certified Angus steaks, Irish stew, Guinness pie, shepherd’s pie, liver and onions, and seafood. You won’t be able to find their Guinness/crab/asparagus soup, turkey/strawberry/Brie sandwich or their Irish whiskey stuffed chicken, anywhere else. Entrees cost between $11 and $27. Food is served from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and drinks until later. Entertainment includes live music on most nights from Christmas to Easter and European sports channels on their TVs.
