Since its beginning in 1926, the resort has grown and now includes everything from gentle slopes for timid beginners to double black diamond runs that will give experts a run for their money.

The area has built its reputation on the first slopes you see arriving at the resort. The five steep slopes will have you free falling and bopping down moguls after you get off the original Norquay double chairlift. Upper Lone Pine and Gun Run are popular demanding trails not to miss.

When you’re ready for a break, head to the Cascade Lodge, a post and beam 24,000 square feet construction with huge picture windows perfect for drinking in the view while sipping a hot chocolate or an après ski cocktail.

Overall, the terrain rises 1,650 feet (503 meters) and spans across 190 acres. The 28 runs are served by 5 lifts. The longest of the runs is .75 miles long.

The season runs from early December to mid April. Night skiing is available on Fridays from 5-10 p.m. from early January to late March.

Banff Mount Norquay receives 120 inches (300 cm) annually and has snowmaking capabilities on 85% of their terrain. Check local conditions live on the Banff Webcam!

Overall, the terrain is classified as 20% beginner, 36% intermediate, 28% advanced and 16% for experts only. It is known as “Banff’s Best Family Resort” with skiing free for children 5 and under with the price of an adult ticket. It is also considered “Banff’s Best Kept Secret.”
