This 80+-year-old ski resort in the wilderness of Banff National Park gets over 400 inches of snow annually- that’s over 33 feet! Despite the stunning snowfall numbers, this resort still gets lots of beautiful sunshine (thus the name). Check local area conditions on the live Banff Webcam!

Come and play on the 3,168 acres and three mountains at Sunshine Village for an unforgettable Canadian Rockies experience.

The slopes are uncrowded and the lifts are the fastest in the world here at Sunshine Village, so you’ll spend less time waiting and more time turning and carving. Ski uninterrupted from mid-November to late May if you want.

Sunshine Village is just 15 minutes from the town of Banff and all its delicious local restaurants. Sunshine is also home to Banff’s only ski-in, ski-out hotel.

The vertical rise at the resort is 3,514 feet (1,072 meters), which peaks at the newly developed 9,200-foot Goat’s Eye Mountain, home to some of Canada’s best advanced terrain. Sunshine is also home to an entire mountain dedicated to snowboarders.

The resort features 12 lifts (8 of them super lifts) and a high-speed gondola. The lifts service this ski area along the Continental Divide that can take you through Alberta and British Columbia on the same run!

There are 107 named runs including the bowls and chutes. The longest run is 5 miles (8 km) long! The terrain is considered 20% beginner, 55% intermediate and 20% advanced. Roger’s Terrain Park is Sunshine’s biggest, which has over 12 acres of features!

If charted terrain is not enough to get your adrenaline pumping, head to Sunshine’s Delirium Dive and Wild West areas. They are considered some of Canada’s most extreme off-piste skiing. After sitting unused for years, Delirium Dive reopened for extreme skiers only. To tackle these uncharted slopes, you must take an avalanche beacon, shovel and a partner with the same.

Sunshine Village is just 5 miles (8 km) from Banff and 80 miles (135 km) from Calgary International Airport.
