Immediately west of Grand Junction, Colorado, is the Colorado National Monument. Canyons, mesas, cacti, lizards, sagebrush, jackrabbits, and more are accessible to visitors from the many trails that wind through the area.

Scenic Rim Rock Drive takes visitors on a 23-mile tour that connects the north and south entrances.

April and May are great times to visit, because of the mild temperatures and this is when the plants are flowering.
