Water Sports
Its location where the Colorado and Roaring Fork rivers meet, make it a great spot for whitewater rafting, fly fishing, and kayaking.

Outdoor Adventures
Hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, golfing, and paragliding are all fun outdoor adventures in the area. Hanging Lake Trail is one of the best hiking trails around Glenwood Springs with spectacular views of waterfalls and the lake along the way. Don’t forget water and your camera! It’s an intermediate trail that is moderately steep and rocky, so it might not be apt for children. Glenwood Canyon Bike Trail is also popular, with its winding path and views of the Colorado River.

Geothermal Hot Springs
The Glenwood Hot Springs Pool is the world’s largest outdoor mineral pool. Its famous for its healing warm waters and huge size- over two blocks long! The Yampah Spa & Vapor Caves are another unique formation in the area. The caves are filled with steam from the nearby geothermal waters, creating natural mineral water saunas underground. The spot has been a favorite for centuries. Even the Ute Indians used to use the caves.

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park
These caverns don’t have steam, but do have amazing crystalline formations. Gaze up at the roof of the cave for a while and then try panning for gemstones. When you’ve got a good one, try their huge swing that launches visitors 1,300 feet above the mighty Colorado River.

Skiing near Glenwood Springs
Sunlight Mountain Resort is a medium-sized ski area about ten miles west of Glenwood Springs. Sunlight has 470 skiiable acres and almost 70 trails. Take the whole family, because they have easy trails to please learners and advanced terrain as well. Double black diamond runs and a terrain park with a half pipe will entertain even the most seasoned skiers!

History Tourism
Linwood Cemetery is just a short in-town hike away from downtown Glenwood Springs. The cemetery has many long-time residents, including Doc Holliday, the famous Colorado gunslinger that was part of the O.K. Corral shootout. The Frontier Museum is also located in Glenwood Springs.
