The longer days of spring and the shift to daylight savings time mean I get to drive home from work while it’s still light outside. For several weeks, I’ve been hoping to get a great shot of Mt. Sopris, but the weather has never been quite right. Either the skies were completely cloudless, or they were hazy, or it was snowing – not what I was looking for. Until last night, that is.
I shot with a polarizing filter, which increased the color saturation and boosted the contrast between the clouds and the sky. I zoomed in a little for this, and then cropped from the bottom to give it a little of that panoramic feel. Over the next few weeks, that field in the foreground will turn a dark green, then get filled with dandelions.
