Part of an old corral

Colorado has plenty of old ghost towns you can visit. More numerous, but lesser known, are abandoned ranches and mine sites.

A few miles up Fisher Creek, outside Glenwood Springs, this old ranch has several decaying buildings and a couple of corrals. We hiked up there in the winter, and were rewarded with many interesting things to explore. As a photographer, I was fascinated by all the textures and shades in the sun-bleached and well-aged wood.
