Breckenridge Ski Resort is set in a picturesque mountain village with a history in gold mining in the Rocky Mountains.

Each winter, the town of 2,000 people plays host to over 1.5 million national and international skiers. But don’t worry about terribly long lines. With 30 lifts and gondolas, Breckenridge has the capacity to move 37,880 people per hour.

The huge resort is a high-alpine environment with four peaks and 2,358 skiable acres. The base elevation is 9,600 feet and the peak is at 12,998 feet above sea level.

With an average of 300 inches of snow per year, Breckenridge Ski Resort is the ideal place for a winter vacation. Every beginner and intermediate trail is groomed at night to make sure there will be smooth riding in the morning.

And it usually snows on the high expert trails, making them fresh almost daily. Take the Imperial Express Superchair, the highest lift in North America at 12,840 feet, to the high alpine bowls above the treeline at Breckenridge. You’ll never forget the panoramic view of the Rockies, or the sound of your heart pounding descending the steeps!

Breckenridge offers five terrain parks, each of a different skill level. In total, there are 155 trails. Four O’Clock is the longest at 3.5 miles.

Off the slopes, take a walking tour of their historic downtown. Cross-country skiing and showshoeing are also popular.

The Ullr Fest celebrates the Nordic god of snow each winter in Breckenridge. Other events include an international sculpture festival and the Spring Massive, in April.

Breckenridge has all the lodging options you can imagine, from the best of the best to cozy bed and breakfasts to economic hotels. Restaurants have just as many options, from seafood to Mexican, Italian to American.
